Description

Once Upon a Mattress is a musical comedy retelling of the fairy tale "The Princess and the Pea". In a repressed kingdom, Queen Aggravain has decreed no one may marry until her son, Prince Dauntless, does. Princess Winnifred, a spirited "swamp princess," arrives to win his hand and must pass the Queen's absurdly difficult "Sensitivity Test" by sleeping on twenty mattresses with a single pea beneath them to prove her nobility. The show features charmingly outrageous humor, music, and a delightful lead who upends traditional princess stereotypes.
